The Floating Safari Camp

On a big lake surrounded by forest sits the Floating Safari Camp - an exclusive raft with own sauna, hot tub, two high-quality safari tents and a comfortable double room. Here you can swim, paddle, fish, enjoy the on-deck barbecue in complete seclusion, and spend the night on the water. Available on an exclusive hire basis, this is the perfect spot for a unique adventure.

 

Included Activity Equipment

Your stay at the Floating Safari Camp includes access to the activity equipment below, along with life jackets. The hosts are always happy to get you started with the equipment and show you where to go, so you can explore the waterways and forest trails.

Canoes

Explore the serene waterways surrounding the camp with a leisurely paddle. The calm waters of the surrounding Lake Degerslet are open to all levels of experience, whether you’re a seasoned paddler or first-timer. 

 

Kayaks

For a solo glide through the water without disturbing the peace and quiet, kayaks are perfect for exploring the shallow bays and coves around the camp. 

 

Paddle Boards 

Find your flow on our stand-up paddle boards, a great way to bask in the sunshine while exploring the calm lake waters.

There are two options for meals depending on your preference:

Self catered

The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner gas barbecue and 12-volt cool box, and the dining area holds six guests. There is also a fire pit on the deck, perfect for evenings under the midnight sun.

 

Fully catered

Your host will cook all meals and provide refreshments for your stay. A breakfast buffet is served in the Aurora Safari Camp dining cabin, a 5 minute boat ride across the lake. Lunch is provided according to your activity itinerary, and a 3-course dinner is freshly prepared and served alfresco at the Floating Camp. The Floating Camp is stocked with house wine, sparkling wine, local beer and soft drinks.

Bathroom facilities

The sauna has a 12V shower available, and there is a private dry toilet and foot-pump powered wash basin on board.
